About Us

“Let’s meet at Manhattan’s!”

When owner Sindy Rogers opened Manhattan’s American Bar and Grill in 1999, she had one goal in mind:  a place where friends could meet to have a good time, relax, have a drink or two, and enjoy home-style American food, like “Mom used to make.”  Sindy credits her own mom as her inspiration.  “She was a great cook!”

Chefs Efram and Eric, who have been with Sindy since the beginning, have captured the essence of comfort food and have perfected it.  Clients come, week after week, to enjoy classics such as fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf, and fish fry.  Sandwiches are also a specialty at Manhattan’s, including Reuben, steak, and their famous #1 “Flaming Burger,” a 8 oz. Angus beef steak burger  topped with Saganaki cheese and flamed table-side. The portions are generous and everyone leaves satisfied.

Sindy has been a business owner since age 21, when she and her brother opened “Sindy’s Cellar” a neighborhood pub in Carol Stream, which she still owns.  As a true entrepreneur, Sindy has operated more than one business at a time, including her own real estate company. Since 1999, her passion has been to run Manhattan’s.  “I look forward to coming in every single day.  I love my customers.  They are like family to me and I want them to feel special,” she adds.

Manhattan’s American Bar & Grill, or simply Manhattan’s Restaurant in Carol Stream, also features a large bar, a special occasion/banquet area–which can be reserved for rehearsal dinners, weddings, birthday parties, showers, private parties and business meetings and more, for parties of up to 110 people, and an outdoor deck area, for your dining pleasure as long as weather permits.

On Wednesday nights, Jazz legend Bruce Oscar and friends jam the night away. Thursday nights thrive with Team Trivia. And on Fridays and Saturdays, there’s live music at Manhattan’s featuring outstanding bands that play hits from the ’60s to the ’90s.  There’s also a dance floor which never stays empty.

Sindy and the Manhattan’s Team invite you to come on over!  You’ll be back.
